“Analyzing the Impact of Emerging Technologies on Supply Chain Sustainability: A Case Study of the Food Supply Chain in the Post-COVID Era”

Abstract :

This research examines the role of emerging technologies in enhancing the sustainability of food supply chains, particularly in the post-COVID context. Utilizing a combination of literature review, case studies, and qualitative interviews with industry experts, the study gathers comprehensive data and insights. The findings indicate that technologies such as block-chain, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) can significantly improve transparency and efficiency within supply chains while also contributing to environmental sustainability. By employing block-chain, companies can provide transparency in product sourcing and increase consumer trust. IoT facilitates real-time monitoring of environmental conditions, leading to reduced waste and improved product quality. Additionally, AI enhances demand forecasting and inventory management, resulting in cost reductions and increased economic efficiency. However, challenges such as high implementation costs, resistance to change, and the need for employee training can hinder the adoption of these technologies. The research also identifies best practices for adopting emerging technologies, emphasizing the importance of stakeholder engagement and continuous training. Ultimately, the findings highlight that organizations must commit to ongoing improvement and adapt to market changes to achieve true sustainability.
